Hogan was a liver and white, spotted and ticked, German Shorthaired Pointer. Hogan was one of our original shorthairs and since we had not established our own kennel name, he bears the name of the kennel from which he came. Hogan was the son of Ch. Huntersglen Windwalker (Walker) and Huntersglen Lady Kira (Kira). He was born March 25, 1991. He weighed around 80 lbs and was just under 26″ at the shoulder.
In 1995, Hogan attended the GSPCA National Specialty in Pennsylvania, USA. From a total entry of 842, Hogan placed 5th in Open Dog and 3rd in the Hunting Dog Class. Hogan performed fly ball and agility with ease. In 1992, Hogan completed his Canadian Show Champion title. In 1993, Hogan completed his Field Dog Title and won “Best Field Dog” at the Toronto Sky Dome. In 1994, Hogan earned his four qualifiers for his American Junior Hunter title and also became pointed towards his American Show Champion title. In 1995, he earned two of his qualifiers of his American Senior Hunter title, though we never finished.
Hogan loved the water and would play at the lake for hours on end. He was known for his endurance and his large quartering movement in the field. He was OVC hips clear and eyes clear.
Hogan truly was an extremely versatile shorthair, and quite capable of anything that he tackled. He stood at stud and produced many titled puppies in both field, show and obedience.
Hogan was a very special family pet and we have many wonderful memories as a result of our time together.
